Description
another artwork by Sara Khayat that was inspired by a poem of Riyad al-Saleh al-Hussein, Syrian poet who prophesied while on the bed of his torment and death the destruction of his homeland, and told us his vision in his last volumes in the poem “Agree or We Don’t Agree”.
He saw blood filling his room, bed, and library, and his room in his poems was a homeland. He Writes in “Syria” poem:
“Oh Syria As miserable as a bone between the teeth of dog
Oh Syria As sharp as a scalpel in the hands of a surgeon
We are your good children
Those who ate your bread, your olives, and your lashes”
